Austin Mermans serves as an Investment Management Intern at Chandler Asset Management, where he supports quantitative modeling and fundamental credit research, contributing to statistical forecasting models, portfolio analytics tools, issuer-level credit analysis, and research write-ups.
Austin began his career in financial services in 2022. Before joining Chandler, he gained investment experience at Steward Partners, Gilder Gagnon Howe & Co., and Cannon Advisors. Across these roles, his work spanned equity research, portfolio analysis, financial modeling, trading support tools, and market commentary.
Austin is pursuing a Master of Quantitative Finance at the University of California, San Diego, expected in December 2026. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a minor in Finance from the University of California, San Diego. He has passed Level I of the CFA examination and is a Level II candidate.
